Sadness

Sadness is one of the main projects of artist Damián Antón Ojeda with songs going back to 2013. Sadness started more closely aligned to black metal and depressive suicidal black metal with early releases such as Close, slowly changing and adapting the sound with every record. The project is best known as one of the bands on the forefront of post-black metal and blackgaze, blending black metal with shoegaze in notable genre-defining releases such as I Want to Be There, Circle of Veins, and atna (among many more). As it's evolved, elements from genres such as emo, screamo, and even pop song structures (in some songs) have been incorporated.

In 2025, I had the honor of working with Third House and Jems to release Dusk Garden on vinyl, a split record between Sadness and Lux, two icons of blackgaze and post-black metal. You can purchase a copy here.
